Since the start of the millennium, society has shifted like never before. Gradually, sei-katsu-sha have displaced corporations as the main drivers of society, becoming the prime movers behind social issues and the creators of solutions, concepts, and visions. We are now changing from a corporation-led world to a sei-katsu-sha-led world. And at the core of this world is technology, typified by artificial intelligence (AI).
Today, the environment around sei-katsu-sha is digitized and digitalized, with everything traceable and linked to statistical data. As AI has become more sophisticated, it has started to control business. The marketing industry is no exception to this trend. In fact, society as a whole is increasingly dependent to technology and I feel that we may be about to lose something precious.
That precious thing is “imagination.”
Whatever direction society may take in the future, I would like to believe that the driving force will be the human imagination. Some call this creativity; others instinct or even ideas. Whatever you call it, and whatever the future might bring, I want this profound human genius to remain the energy behind Hakuhodo’s business.
As Worldwide CCO of the Hakuhodo Group, I strive to ensure that the work we create is full of imagination. I want it to move people and make them happy at a level far beyond that which something created without human imagination ever could.
